Review: Stardom – 2018.03.21

Nao Yamaguchi vs. Hiromi Mimura
This was Nao’s second match and she didn’t really offer anything more than the first, with very little offence and nothing really of note. She did at least look very comfortable and nothing went wrong, it just wasn’t much of a match at all. Hiromi Mimura pinned Nao Yamaguchi after a Shouta! dropkick. 1.75/5

Bea Priestley vs. Xia Brookside vs. Shiki Shibusawa
This match was all about Bea’s strikes. Most of them looked great but I do worry a little bit of the potential for injury when she is legitimately kicking people in the head. Bea dominated and pinned Shiki Shibusawa for the in. 2.75/5 

Jungle Kyona, Natsuko Tora & Konami vs. Queen’s Quest (Viper, Momo Watanabe & AZM)
It’s great to see Viper back for another Stardom tour. She performed a few of her signature moves here including a huge cannonball to all three opponents. I think Jungle Kyona really stood out with some of her power moves later in the match but everyone looked good when they got a chance in the ring. Viper pinned Natsuko Tora with splash. 3.5/5

Faby & Mari Apache vs. Io Shirai & HZK
This was a great first match in Stardom for Faby Apache. She showed incredible movement and kicks and it was obvious Io enjoyed working with two legends of the style she has cultivated for herself. There were great early exchanges between Io and Faby and the pace continued throughout the match with HZK and Mari putting in good performances. Eventually Faby managed to isolate HZK as Mari took care of Io and HZK tapped out. 4/5

Oedo Tai (Kagetsu, Hana Kimura & Sumire Natsu) vs. Mayu Iwatani, Tam Nakano & Toni Storm
There were some crazy spots in this match, the craziest being Kagetsu hanging Mayu from a balcony and then dropping her. There were also some great segments of wrestling, with Mayu looking her high-speed best and Hana putting on a very vicious show, her octopus hold on Mayu’s recently recovered elbow looked brutal. Tam took most of the punishment throughout the match until she finally managed to get Toni in. Toni, who had not been too involved in the match up to this point, hit two piledrivers on Sumire Natsu and got the pin. 4/5
